Kinda Nice Having 3 Computers
I have Windows Vista, TinyXP, and Mac OS X Tiger.
I used to have linux (and many versions of it) on my netbook but then realized fuck it I'm a gamer/windowsprogrammer. So i switched to TinyXP (because I have a 4gb ssd i couldn't fit anything bigger than a 256mb ISO image on it)
Hm
First main computer is a Desktop which has a
intel core 2 quad Q8300 series 2.5ghz processor with.. i believe 6mb cache (or 4... not sure)
7200rpm 1tb harddrive
7200rpm 750gb harddrive (secondary, and is significantly faster because it's less used)
NVIDIA GeForce 9800 graphics card (768mb memory) and I know nothing else about it
8gb ram (don't know the speed, but I also don't really care )
It's my main gaming computer, my main work computer, and my main media computer. I HAVE SO MUCH EXTRA CRAP ON IT :/
I need atleast 1.5gb of storage right now to store all of my media.
2] MacBook Pro
I got it ... maybe 4-5 years ago.
Processor = 2.16ghz processor intel core 2 duo
3gb ram (i installed a 2gb chip because it was ridiculously slow at one point)
it's the fastest booting machine in the house.
111gb harddrive
Graphics card, i have no clue but i'm not complaining.
What I use this for? Well my Mac saved my ass on several occasions (mostly through the use of iMovie, it's so easy to use and fast)
But now I have Sony Vegas on my desktop so I won't be using it anymore.
hmm I just use it for basic web surfing, itunes, adium. that's about it besides the occasional editing my source files via textedit.
3] Netbook.
AH HERE IS WHERE THINGS GET AS BAD AS THEY CAN
specs:
4cell battery (about 4 hours ... which is good enough for school)
runs TinyXP (but doesn't show me the battery icon... meh i sacrificed my battery icon for windows. oh well)
1gb ram
1.6ghz intel atom processor
4gb ssd (this is FUCKING LAME!!!!!)
I installed... maybe 25+ operating systems on it by now.
Very VERY VEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRYYYYYYYYY portable! not that great for gaming since the screen is 8.9inches large.
it's a EEEPC 900A. so .. yeah there you go.
Also more people should write blogs. this is fun.

What size screen do you have? Different distributions have different settings...
I wonder how big the classmate pc we got is? The one that the keyboard is smaller than your hand? like 320x240 lol
I think Linux can probably support that... or probably at least Debian based ones.
I was using Knoppix to recover. 3/4 of the screen was black, but there was still stuff there I couldn't see.
heh, my netbook has 1gb ram, 160gb hard drive, 10.1 inch screen 1024x600, and 1.6ghz processor.
My primary PC (laptop):
Win 7/Ubuntu dualboot
16 inch screen
2.4GHz
6G RAM
1G Video memory
500G HD (also 500G external)

btw: on the first thing you said you needed 1.5gb to hold your media.
a lot of media got deleted on my b drive somehow. but by the end of this year i'll probably need another HD for all my media
my netbook is an Acer Aspire One AOD150-1165 (I know it's AOD150 but I'm not 100% sure about the 1165, I can't remember if it is or if it is something else)
I have like 0.95 TB total, I think. I forgot how much my laptop is, so I didn't count it. It's probably something like 1.4TB with it...
The total amount of hard drive space I have is insignificant something like 0.3TB
