...I'm attempting to make one, if anyone wants to help out. Paul, can you help me write a graphics engine for c++ sometime? I don't think we need to worry about it now, because I don't even know what the game's about.

I mean a simple system (like one function) to write graphics to the screen. Like what I did with dwarfwalk. I used to have darkgdk awhile ago, I wonder if I still do? I don't remember liking it.... Anyway, I'm trying to make from scratch.

Plus, darkgdk is noncommercial, and all the cool stuff costs extra.

that just means that you can't sell the game.

oh but one library i have always tried to install but failed to (and i've heard is awesome for game programming) is Allegro.

well if you're gonna have a graphics engine that is simple like the dwarf animation, why not use the graphics engine you used for the dwarf animation?

What kind of input will the function take.

You do realize most professional quality games are 2-3 year productions minimum and that is with teams of 5-10 for different specialized parts. or the stats are something like that

I realize that, and have allocated 2 years. I have a large team helping me, and it's not going to be professional quality. Unless it ends up being easier than expected.

The name of the game is probably the last thing you should come up with. Write the story as well as a background, then come up with a name that fits the story. It'll be a lot easier then to come up with a good name.

Thats what I keep telling everyone... but, we need a working title so we don't have to refer to it as "The game. You know, that one. Not that one, the other one. Yes that one."

Plus, my story writers have not come up with anything that pleases me yet...
