Apache/XAMPP
Apache is a webserver, in fact 90% (or something similar) of the internet runs on it. I finally got around to installing it and I cant really say I regret it. It was kind of annoying to install and configure because I was braindead for the past few days, it took me way longer to figure it out than it should have but in reality it was pretty easy to install.
I actually opted to install XAMPP which is Apache with a bunch of pre-configured addons (PHP, PERL, etc.) but also includes MySQL, an FTP server (filezilla), a mail server (Mercury), and optionally a Java server (Apache Tomcat). XAMPP saved me a bunch of time so if you are like me and need a webserver with additions (*cough* Allen) give it a shot.
