#!CrunchBang Linux
I installed #! yesterday and I just started testing it out today. So far I have realized that it's obviously (as advertised) faster booting than regular Ubuntu. Not by much, but still it's an obvious time change.
I installed #!CrunchBang Lite version <----- LITE VERSION! Awesome
On my ASUS EEE PC 900A netbook which has:
4GB SSD
1GB DDR2 Ram
1.6ghz Intel Atom processor
8.9" LED Display
4 cell battery
~2.7lbs
I ran idle at about 6% cpu power, and ~100 ram usage. The disk usage was about 1.2 gb so not bad for a 400mb ISO image. It didn't take long to install/format the disk and it was well worth it.
All apps run fine, no bugs. IRC is smooth, web browsing feels cleaner than regular Ubuntu (not sure why but I feel less cluttered because of the lack of extra crap on the bottom or top from the lack of a toolbar).
WiFi was easy to set up, took me 1 minute to find the thing, enter my WEP pass, start the browser, go to google, check my email
Is not intensive on my battery at all. It is truly "Lite"!
I recommend all people who have an EEE PC netbook to install THIS linux flavor on it. #! is worth every penny (ha! linux joke)
If you have #! then post your review on it below. If you don't, then go get it, install it, test it, then come back to CMPC and write a review on it and post it ITT.

What does that have to do with anything? My post and I can choose to put it on any forum I choose.

Re: #!CrunchBang Linux
that's called conky. You customize it via going to the menu (right click) -> preferences then change the conky configuration file manually. Then restart conky once you've saved your changes.

Re: #!CrunchBang Linux
My question is, can I use #!CrunchBang on my mac? I'm kinda getting a little pissed off at how obnoxious my mac has been with updates and shit over the past couple months.

Re: #!CrunchBang Linux
Honestly I think you would get along much better with Ubuntu or Debian...
