Coding For Actual Use
Have any of you noticed that nobody really cares about your programs? I have and it kind of sucks, how do you guys make programs people will actually use?

there's atleast 5 different programs that do the same thing somewhere on the internet for every purpose. i think the world has enough useful programs

Allen, that is why you probably won't ever code something usefull that others will use. . .
One way to make sure someone will get some use out of your programs is to find someone who needs a program that can do something beneficial. Then write a program to do what they need.

that's why i'm not aiming for a programming career. system admin is good enough to pay the bills and keep me interested.

Paul: I have done that but after a while people stop needing programs. :/ Maybe I should just start distributing them online or something.
